Description

Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (1 pound per person)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 orange, zested and juiced
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing giblets and patting it dry with paper towels.
  3. Season the turkey with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mix chopped rosemary and thyme with orange and lemon zests and juices.
  5. Stuff the turkey cavity with quartered onion, crushed garlic, and herb mixture.
  6. Set the turkey breast side up in a roasting pan, pouring chicken broth into the bottom.
  7. Roast for 2-3 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  8. Baste every 30 minutes with pan juices.
  9. Rest the turkey for at least 20 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve the turkey at the table, and enjoy a festive feast.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the turkey overnight with the seasoning mix. If you’re short on time, consider using an air fryer.
