- 1 whole turkey (1 pound per person)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 orange, zested and juiced
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing giblets and patting it dry with paper towels.
- Season the turkey with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Mix chopped rosemary and thyme with orange and lemon zests and juices.
- Stuff the turkey cavity with quartered onion, crushed garlic, and herb mixture.
- Set the turkey breast side up in a roasting pan, pouring chicken broth into the bottom.
- Roast for 2-3 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Baste every 30 minutes with pan juices.
- Rest the turkey for at least 20 minutes before serving.
- Serve the turkey at the table, and enjoy a festive feast.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the turkey overnight with the seasoning mix. If you’re short on time, consider using an air fryer.
