Description
Deliciously soft and fluffy rolls served with a sweet cinnamon butter, inspired by the famous Texas Roadhouse.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup softened butter (for cinnamon butter)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the cinnamon butter by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Serve the warm rolls with cinnamon butter on the side.
Notes
- For best results, ensure the milk is warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast.
- You can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
- These rolls are best served warm and can be reheated in the oven.
