Description

Crispy and delicious fried pickles inspired by Texas Roadhouse, perfect as an appetizer or snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 jar dill pickles
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Drain the pickles and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk.
  4. Dip each pickle slice into the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the pickles in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double dip the pickles.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
  • These can be made ahead and reheated in the oven for a crispy texture.
