- 4 lbs beef short ribs
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
- Season the beef short ribs with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, sear the short ribs on all sides until browned.
- Place the chopped onion and minced garlic in the crockpot.
- Add the seared short ribs on top of the onions and garlic.
- In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, red wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour the mixture over the short ribs in the crockpot.
- Add the thyme and bay leaves.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Remove the short ribs and strain the sauce if desired.
- Serve the short ribs with the sauce over mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the short ribs overnight.
- Serve with your favorite side dishes.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
