- 2 cups sourdough starter
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Mix the sourdough starter with warm water and olive oil in a large bowl until well blended.
- Combine flour, sugar, and salt with the mixture, stirring until a slightly sticky dough forms.
- Fold in the chopped strawberries gently for even distribution.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 4-6 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) as the dough rises.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Second rise: Cover and let rise for another hour.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a different sweet note, you can replace sugar with honey or maple syrup. Experiment with different fruits for variation.
