- 2 cups strawberries, hulled and chopped
- 1–2 jalapeños, seeded and minced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Combine sugar, apple cider vinegar, water, salt, and black pepper in a medium saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the chopped strawberries and minced jalapeños to the pot, stirring them into the mixture.
- Cook for 5-10 minutes until the strawberries soften and the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool before serving to enhance flavors.
- Drizzle over pancakes, waffles, or serve with grilled meats.
Notes
To deepen flavors, prepare a day in advance. This cowboy can also be used as a marinade.
