- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.
- Pour in warm water and olive oil, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently for about 5 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into a round bagel.
- Boil water in a large pot and drop each bagel in, boiling for 30 seconds on each side.
- Mix remaining sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl and roll each boiled bagel in the mixture.
- Transfer coated bagels to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Consider serving with cream cheese or honey. For storage, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
