Deliciously rich and gooey chocolate lava cakes filled with a decadent salted caramel center.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease four ramekins.
- Melt the butter and chocolate chips together in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until pale and thick.
- Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
- Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into each ramekin, then add a tablespoon of salted caramel sauce in the center, and top with the remaining batter.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- Let cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- Serve immediately for the best lava effect.
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking; just add a few extra minutes to the baking time.
- Pair with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
