- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup rhubarb, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for icing)
Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Heat the milk and butter until warm, then mix with the flour mixture and egg until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about five minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Allow the dough to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about one hour.
- Roll the risen dough into a rectangle, spread rhubarb over it, and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 1-inch rolls, placing them in a greased baking dish.
- Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk for icing and drizzle over the warm rolls before serving.
