Description
Pigs in a Blanket are a delicious and fun appetizer made by wrapping small sausages in dough and baking them until golden brown.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package of cocktail sausages (about 12 oz)
- 1 can of crescent roll dough
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (optional)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- If using, sprinkle shredded cheese on the wide end of each triangle.
- Place a cocktail sausage at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up.
- Place the rolled sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the rolled sausages.
- Sprinkle poppy seeds on top if desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, use spicy sausages or add jalapeños.
- These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
- Experiment with different types of dough, such as puff pastry.
