Peppermint White Chocolate Martini: A Creamy, Festive Holiday Cocktail

  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Description

Creamy white chocolate meets cool peppermint in this luxurious, shaken martini. Garnished with crushed candy cane, the perfect elegant holiday drink.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cocktail:

  • 2 oz (60 ml) premium vodka (Vanilla vodka is a fantastic upgrade)

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) white chocolate liqueur (e.g., Godiva White Chocolate, Mozart White, or Tempus Fugit Crème de Cacao Blanc)

  • 1 oz (30 ml) peppermint schnapps (e.g., Rumple Minze, or a smoother option like Hiram Walker)

  • 1 oz (30 ml) half-and-half, light cream, or full-fat canned coconut milk for a dairy-free version

  • ½ teaspoon pure peppermint extract (optional, for an intense mint kick)

  • 1 cup of ice (for shaking)

For the Garnish & Glass Prep:

  • Rim: Light corn syrup or agave nectar & finely crushed candy canes or peppermint candies

  • Garnish: Mini candy canes, a sprig of fresh mint, white chocolate shavings, or a dusting of edible glitter.

  • Glass: Chilled coupe or martini glass

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Glass
Chill your coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before making the cocktail. Pour a thin layer of light corn syrup or agave nectar onto a small saucer. On another saucer, spread out the finely crushed candy canes. Dip the rim of the chilled glass first into the syrup, then into the crushed candy, twisting gently to create an even, festive rim. Set the prepared glass aside.

Step 2: Chill Your Shaker & Combine Ingredients
Fill a cocktail shaker about halfway with fresh ice cubes. To the shaker, carefully measure and add the vodka, white chocolate liqueur, peppermint schnapps, and cream. For a more intense mint flavor, add the optional ½ teaspoon of pure peppermint extract at this stage.

Step 3: Shake with Vigor
Secure the lid on your shaker tightly. Shake vigorously for a full 15-20 seconds. This is crucial not only to chill the drink but to properly dilute and emulsify the cream and liqueurs, creating a perfectly smooth, silky, and slightly frothy texture. The shaker should feel very cold to the touch.

Step 4: Strain into the Prepared Glass
Remove the chilled, rimmed glass from the freezer. Using a Hawthorne or fine strainer, strain the shaken cocktail into the glass. This will ensure no small ice chips or undissolved ingredients make it into your smooth drink.

Step 5: Add the Final Garnishes
Immediately add your chosen garnishes. A mini candy cane hooked over the rim or used as a stirrer is classic. For extra elegance, float a few white chocolate shavings on top or add a tiny, fresh mint sprig.

Step 6: Serve Immediately
Serve the martini at once, while it is breathtakingly cold and the frothy top is still present. Encourage the drinker to give it a gentle stir with the candy cane to integrate the flavors before their first sip
