- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 4 sub rolls
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the meatballs until browned on all sides.
- Add marinara sauce to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Place sub rolls on a baking sheet and fill each with meatballs and sauce.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped fresh basil or parsley on top before serving.
- These subs can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven.
- Feel free to use turkey or chicken for a lighter version of the meatballs.
