Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter, sugar, egg, salt, and cinnamon to the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the dough and spread maple syrup and chopped walnuts on top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
  9. Place the slices in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Drizzle with additional maple syrup before serving.
