Description

Delicious Key Lime Pie Bars with a buttery graham cracker crust and a creamy, tangy filling that capture the spirit of the tropics.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup key lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime zest
  • 2 large eggs
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make the crust: In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well mixed. Press this mixture into the bottom of a greased 9-inch baking dish.
  3. Prepare the filling: In another bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, lime zest, and eggs until smooth.
  4. Combine the filling with the crust, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is set but slightly jiggly in the center.
  6. Chill completely and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Slice into bars and serve with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

These bars can be made a day in advance. Can substitute regular limes if key limes are not available.
