  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

  • 1/2 cup diced jalapenos (fresh or pickled)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and yeast together.
  2. Add the warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Fold in the cheddar cheese and jalapenos until evenly distributed.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise for 12-18 hours at room temperature.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  6. Once the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  7. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside, and cover with the lid.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes with the lid on, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
