Instructions

  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  6. Add buttermilk as needed to soften the dough.
  7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into heart shapes.
  8. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets and sprinkle with colored sugar.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
  10. Let cool on wire racks.
