A rich and luxurious chocolate cake layered with creamy white and dark chocolate mousse, perfect for special occasions.

- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Stir in boiling water until well combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Let the cakes cool completely before removing from pans.
- For the mousse, melt dark chocolate and let it cool slightly.
- Whip 1 cup of heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form, then fold in the melted dark chocolate.
- Repeat the process with white chocolate for the white mousse.
- Layer the cakes with dark chocolate mousse and white chocolate mousse in between.
- Frost the top and sides of the cake with remaining mousse.
- Chill the cake for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use high-quality chocolate.
- Ensure the cakes are completely cool before frosting.
- This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
