A delicious and savory pot roast cooked in a crock pot with French onion soup for ultimate flavor.
Ingredients

- 3–4 lbs beef chuck roast
- 2 cans (10.5 oz each) French onion soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, sear the roast on all sides until browned.
- Place the sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Transfer the seared roast to the crock pot on top of the onions.
- In a bowl, mix the French onion soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
- Pour the mixture over the roast in the crock pot.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Once done, shred the meat and serve with the onion gravy, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can add carrots and potatoes to the crock pot.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This dish pairs well with crusty bread or mashed potatoes.
