Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead it gently a few times until it comes together.
- Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into wedges.
- Place them on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the scones to cool slightly before serving.
