A refreshing cocktail that beautifully balances sweet and spicy flavors with pomegranate juice, ginger, and tequila.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 piece fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 5 leaves mint
- 3 ounces pomegranate juice
- 2 ounces grapefruit juice
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1 ounce spicy ginger syrup
- 2 ounces tequila
- Top ginger beer
- To taste coarse sugar
- To taste granulated sugar
- To taste cayenne
Instructions
- Prepare your glass by mixing equal parts coarse sugar and granulated sugar; add cayenne if desired.
- Moisten the rim of your glass with a lime wedge, then dip it into the sugar mixture.
- Gather fresh ingredients and finely chop the piece of ginger.
- Muddle the mint leaves in a cocktail shaker to release their oils.
- Add the muddled mint, chopped ginger, honey, pomegranate juice, grapefruit juice, lime juice, spicy ginger syrup, tequila, and cayenne pepper into the shaker.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice.
- Top off with ginger beer and stir lightly to combine.
- Garnish with a fresh mint sprig or a slice of lime.
Notes
Make-ahead: Prepare the ginger syrup in advance and refrigerate for up to two weeks. Avoid using bottled juices for the best flavor.
