- 1 lb flank steak
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cups tortilla chips
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 jalapeño, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, chili powder, and cumin. Marinate the flank steak in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest.
- In the same skillet, add sliced bell pepper and onion, sautéing until softened.
- While the vegetables are cooking, slice the steak into thin strips.
- On a baking sheet, layer tortilla chips, followed by the sautéed vegetables and sliced steak.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and top with sour cream, fresh cilantro, and jalapeño slices if desired.
