Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- Salt to taste
- 4 sandwich buns (brioche or your choice)
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced cucumbers (optional)
- Pickles (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: Pour the buttermilk over the chicken breasts in a large bowl, ensuring they are covered. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the Bang Bang sauce: In a small mixing bowl, blend mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, lime juice, and salt. Set aside.
- Prepare the chicken: In a shallow dish, mix flour with paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Dredge marinated chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- Fry the chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken for 5–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Assemble the sandwich: Spread Bang Bang sauce on each bun, add fried chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and optional pickles. Drizzle with additional sauce and top with the other bun.
Notes
Marinate chicken overnight for deeper flavor. Can substitute almond flour for gluten-free options.
