Ingredients

- 4 slices of bread
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 4 slices of bacon
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons of butter
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
- Grill the sandwiches in the skillet over medium heat until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika to the onions while cooking.
- Use your favorite type of cheese for a different taste.
- Serve with a side of tomato soup for a classic combination.
