Description

A delightful dish of tender beef and vibrant broccoli, cooked slowly to perfection in a rich, savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Start by placing the beef broth, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger in your slow cooker, stirring to combine.
  2. Next, add the thinly sliced flank steak, making sure every slice gets adequately coated in the savory sauce.
  3. Set your slow cooker to low and let it work its magic for about 6-7 hours or, if you’re pressed for time, on high for 3-4 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, add the fresh broccoli florets.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to form a slurry and stir this mixture into the slow cooker.
  6. Serve this delightful beef and broccoli over warm, fluffy rice.

Notes

Make-ahead tips include slicing the beef and preparing the sauce in advance. For quicker preparation, consider using an Instant Pot.
