  • 34 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Rub the pork shoulder with smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Place the seasoned pork on top of the onions and garlic in the slow cooker.
  4. Pour the BBQ sauce over the pork, ensuring it is well coated.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
  6. Once cooked, shred the pork with two forks and mix it with the sauce in the slow cooker.
  7. Serve on buns, in tacos, or on its own with your favorite sides.
