- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or crushed San Marzano tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked spicy Italian sausage (crumbled)
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Hot honey, for drizzling
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C), placing a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough to a parchment-lined pizza peel or baking sheet.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese, followed by the crumbled spicy sausage.
- Drop dollops of ricotta across the pizza. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if you want more heat.
- Drizzle olive oil across the top, then place the parchment paper with the pizza onto the hot stone or sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Drizzle hot honey over the pizza and garnish with fresh basil if desired, then slice and serve hot.
