Ingredients

  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Incorporate the chopped rosemary into the dough.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll.
  9. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with olive oil before serving.

Notes

  • For a stronger rosemary flavor, add more fresh rosemary.
  • These rolls can be frozen after baking; reheat in the oven before serving.
