- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Incorporate the chopped rosemary into the dough.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with olive oil before serving.
Notes
- For a stronger rosemary flavor, add more fresh rosemary.
- These rolls can be frozen after baking; reheat in the oven before serving.
- Serve warm with butter for a delightful treat.
