  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water or milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
  • Chopped nuts for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the pear halves on a baking sheet and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  3. Roast the pears in the oven for about 20 minutes, or until tender.
  4. In a saucepan, bring water or milk to a boil.
  5. Add rolled oats, cinnamon, and salt to the boiling liquid.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Once the oats are cooked, remove from heat and stir in butter if desired.
  8. Serve the oatmeal in bowls topped with roasted pears and chopped nuts.
