Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  7. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into wedges.
  8. Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
