Ingredients

  • 2 large Portobello mushrooms
  • 4 slices of Gruyère cheese
  • 4 slices of ciabatta bread
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or panini press.
  2. Clean the Portobello mushrooms and remove the stems.
  3. Brush the mushrooms with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Grill the mushrooms for about 5-7 minutes on each side until tender.
  5. Assemble the panini by placing a slice of Gruyère cheese on one slice of ciabatta, followed by the grilled mushrooms and fresh basil, then top with another slice of cheese and ciabatta.
  6. Grill the assembled panini in the press or on the grill until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Slice and serve warm.
