A simple and delicious casserole that combines all the flavors of traditional cabbage rolls without the hassle of rolling them.

- 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
- Add the cooked beef mixture and chopped cabbage to the bowl and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
