Description

A delicate, crispy pastry dough perfect for creating traditional Kunafa with creamy fillings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon oil

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Gradually add 1 cup of water while stirring continuously until the mixture forms a smooth batter.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly coat it with oil.
  4. Pour a thin layer of the batter into the skillet, swirling to create an even layer.
  5. Cook until the edges start to lift and the bottom is lightly golden, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove the dough using a spatula and place it on a wire rack to cool. Repeat until all batter is used.

Notes

Use room temperature water for a smoother batter and experiment with layer thickness for desired crispness.
