- 500g chicken breast, diced
- 200g plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 400g canned tomatoes
- 200ml coconut milk
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and chili powder. Add the diced chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until browned.
- Stir in canned tomatoes and coconut milk, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
- Cook for 20 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, increase the amount of chili powder.
- Serve with basmati rice or naan for a complete meal.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated.
