- 5 cloves garlic (finely minced)
- ⅓ cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for finishing)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish – optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté for 30–45 seconds, then remove from heat.
- Stir in the brown sugar, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar until smoothly combined.
- Place the seasoned chicken into the skillet and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Add butter to the skillet, allowing it to melt and thicken the glaze over the chicken for an additional 1–2 minutes.
- Remove from heat, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately with additional sauce drizzled on top.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the chicken for a few hours and consider adding vegetables during the last few minutes of cooking.
