Instructions

- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamy mixture.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden edges appear.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth for icing, stir in food coloring, then decorate the cooled cookies.
