- 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
- 2 cups carrots, sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Steam the cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder, and stir for 1-2 minutes.
- Whisk in the milk gradually, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in half of the shredded cheese, along with salt and pepper.
- Combine the steamed vegetables with the cheese sauce.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese and optional breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Customize the casserole with different vegetables or cheeses as desired. This dish can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
