Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 cups carrots, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Steam the cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots until tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder, and stir for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Whisk in the milk gradually, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  5. Stir in half of the shredded cheese, along with salt and pepper.
  6. Combine the steamed vegetables with the cheese sauce.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheese and optional breadcrumbs on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
