Classic Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Kielbasa

Description

A hearty and comforting dish featuring layers of pierogi, kielbasa, and cheese, all cooked to perfection in a crockpot.


Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen pierogi (16 oz)
  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and chicken broth until well combined.
  2. Layer half of the frozen pierogi in the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Add half of the kielbasa slices and half of the chopped onion on top of the pierogi.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese over the layers.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining pierogi, kielbasa, onion, and cheese.
  6. Pour the soup mixture evenly over the top.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the pierogi are tender.
  8. Season with salt and pepper before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to use any type of pierogi you prefer.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit the kielbasa and add more vegetables.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before cooking.
