- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder

- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, sugar, and vegetable oil until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- To the remaining batter, add a bit more cocoa powder if desired, then pour it over the first layer in the pan.
- Use a knife to swirl the two batters together for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider adding chocolate chips to the batter.
- This cake can be served warm or at room temperature.
