Description
A rich and decadent chocolate torte infused with citrus flavors and topped with a smooth dark ganache.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- While the torte is baking, prepare the ganache by heating the heavy cream and pouring it over the chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
- Once the torte is baked, let it cool completely before removing it from the pan.
- Pour the ganache over the cooled torte and let it set before serving.
Notes
- For a more intense citrus flavor, add lemon zest along with the orange zest.
- Serve with whipped cream or fresh berries for added flavor.
- This torte can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
