Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 head of cabbage, leaves separated
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated beef until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. While the beef is cooking, prepare the cabbage leaves by blanching them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until softened.
  5. Assemble the wraps by placing a portion of beef, julienned carrot, and chopped green onion on a cabbage leaf.
  6. Wrap the cabbage leaf around the filling and secure it if necessary.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add sliced chili peppers to the filling.
  • Leftover beef can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • These wraps can also be served with a dipping sauce for added flavor.
