- 4 slices of bread
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 4 slices of cooked bacon
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt, cooking until they are soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of butter.
- Place two slices of bread in the skillet and layer with cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread.
- Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Feel free to use any type of cheese you prefer.
- For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or rosemary to the onions while caramelizing.
