Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt, cooking until they are soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of butter.
  5. Place two slices of bread in the skillet and layer with cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions.
  6. Top with the remaining slices of bread.
  7. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  8. Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
